Luis Herrera – Director Of Basketball Operations / Assistant Coach

Luis Herrera currently serves as the Assistant Coach for the Bethesda University Men’s and Women’s Basketball programs. With over 24 years of coaching experience at the professional, national, and collegiate levels, Luis has built a reputation for developing players holistically—focusing on athletic excellence, leadership, and character.

In addition to his collegiate work, Luis is a USA Basketball Clinical Coach, contributing to Gold Camps and helping train the next generation of elite athletes. He has also worked internationally with national teams and professional squads, earning multiple national championships in his home country.

At Bethesda University, Luis emphasizes discipline, accountability, and the integration of Christian values into daily team culture, fostering not only skilled athletes but principled leaders. Known for his strategic approach, dedication to player development, and mentorship both on and off the court, Luis is committed to guiding student-athletes toward success in basketball, academics, and life.
